'Moiments': Exams!

EXAMS. They are definitely not the greatest things in the world but it's something we all have to go through to excel to the next level right. I mean life is about growing, learning and achieving something greater than ourselves and exams help us do that. I like to think of them as checkpoints. I take each exam as something that makes sure I'm on the right path and I'm doing//knowing the right things.

It's not always the easiest time and for me and most people exam season comes around twice a year; just after Christmas and just before the summer. How am I suppose to fully enjoy my Christmas holiday when I have thoughts of sitting in a cold empty room lurking around the corner. Looool joke, they have a heating system so it's not that bad...

I know a lot of people find it hard and feel like giving up but it's at your lowest point that you get the greatest inspiration. I know people who even thought about giving up on their degrees during this time but now they have their Bachelors and Honours and it's one the greatest things they've done. It's normal to sometimes feel like you're in over your head but putting all that and more into perspective there's one scripture that keeps me going:

"Your commands are always with me and make me wiser... I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statues." -Psalm 119:98-99

... in all honesty we all have to be activist. You can't just pray and believe you'll pass your exams, you have to put in work. Do your part (revise properly) and God will do the rest! "...faith by itself, if not accompanied by action is dead." -James 2:17
You can't expect success without hard work! #wordstoliveby

Hopefully this inspires someone in this exam season we're in right now. Please don't give up, work now and reap your rewards in the future mate...

'Moiments': Let's cook...

I absolutely L.O.V.E to cook especially when making something new! Now this extends to following random recipes online to just full on making things up as I go. For the biggest percentage of the time experimentation becomes innovation but there's always that one time, when you're just like nah allow it because it just doesn't work (don't lie we have ALL been there)...

I can't really pin point where my passion for food began but I remember as a wii Yorkshire lass, early high school, I would wake up early on a Saturday morning JUST to watch 'Saturday Kitchen'. I even tried the omelette challenge quite a few times. I really don't know who I thought I was *cough cough* Lorraine Pascale...

I would definitely say my biggest FAN would be my pops. He has supported all the crazy ventures and let me tell you now, there have been MANY. So in the days when I would find myself recipes online he would be my ingredients provider and the very first person to sample my food. How awesome is that! You could say he taught me to cook, I mean we all need that one reliable critic right.

-Ramble, ramble...

So I am currently in university and on top of that I still venture, I have bits and bobs in rotation EVERYWHERE so finding time to tame my food passion is quite difficult. A few weeks ago I watched 'The Hundred Foot Journey' which in some respects reignited that fire. I mean, usually I have a set routine for my meals but today I thought lets just do whatever... and ended up making this:

BACON wrapped meatballs, spiced rice & mushrooms...

During the holidays I like catching up on the cooking channels. One of my favourite shows is 'Cooking for real with Sunny Anderson', my gaarssh I love that show! #fangirlmoment

In this Christmas season I recommend watching a few shows here and there, you never know what little gem you may stumble upon. It might just turn your whole Christmas dinner around...

'Moiments' number 1: Let's start a blog...

Oh hey girl, heey!

Me llamo Metruth and here are some 'Moiments' I'd like to share! Yes, I am completely aware that this isn't the correct spelling of 'moments' but I just needed to add a little something special, a little METRUTH...

A lot of people start blogs for numerous reasons. For me I simply find it easier to express myself using written word and I quite like it. I'm a bit of a social media addict so instead of making thousands of tweets I figured hey, WHY NOT START A BLOG INSTEAD 🙌

This blogspot will range from health to beauty to fashion to life stories/advise and even to rants about this awesome British weather!

Note: My faith is a mahusive part of my life so there shall be bible verse galore up and through here...

P.s. For those who caught on... I'm not Spanish, I just LOVE the language!

Peace - love & all things sugary ✌️
